Terms & Conditions – StaySmart
1. General
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all accommodation bookings made directly with StaySmart or through authorized third-party platforms. By confirming a reservation, the Guest agrees to these Terms.
StaySmart may update these Terms at any time. Updates will not affect bookings already confirmed.
2. Booking & Payment
- A booking is confirmed once full payment is received via Stripe or another authorized payment processor.
- All rates are in Norwegian Kroner (NOK) and include applicable fees unless stated otherwise.
- VAT (MVA) applies only if total annual turnover exceeds NOK 50,000 (12% thereafter).
- StaySmart may cancel unpaid or invalid bookings.
- Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
3. Check-In & Check-Out
- Check-in: From 15:00 (unless otherwise agreed)
- Check-out: By 10:00
- Late check-out without prior approval may incur a fee equal to one night’s stay.
- Guests must present valid ID if requested at check-in.
4. Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change. To ensure fairness and operational stability, the following terms apply:
- Free cancellation up to 14 days before check-in
- 50% refund for cancellations 7–14 days prior
- No refund for cancellations within 7 days or for no-shows
- No refunds for early departures or unused nights once stay has started
- Force majeure cases (illness, transport disruptions, natural disasters, government restrictions) may receive partial refund or credit at StaySmart’s discretion. Requests must be submitted in writing.
5. Guest Responsibilities
Guests must:
- Treat the property, furniture, and equipment with care
- Cover costs for any damage or extra cleaning required
- Refrain from smoking, vaping, and open flames inside the property
- Obtain prior written consent for parties, events, or commercial photography
- Comply with all house rules, local laws, and community regulations
Failure to comply may result in immediate termination of the stay without refund.
6. Liability & Limitation
- StaySmart is not liable for personal injury, loss, or damage to property, except as required by Norwegian law.
- StaySmart is not responsible for interruptions in utilities, internet, or maintenance, provided reasonable efforts are made to resolve them.
- If accommodation becomes unavailable, guests may be relocated to a comparable property or refunded for the unused portion of the stay.
7. Privacy & Data Protection
StaySmart processes personal data in compliance with GDPR and Norwegian privacy law.
Guest information is used solely for booking management, communication, and legal compliance, and is not shared with third parties unless necessary (e.g., payment providers, cleaning services).

8. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
- These Terms are governed by Norwegian law.
- Disputes shall be settled in Oslo District Court.
- Consumers residing in the EU/EEA may alternatively use the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform.
